A Sad Ending

Most everyone that knows us knows that the Mac Pack suffered an incredible loss on Sunday.  Mash Jefferson Big Dog Double Trouble is no longer with us in the world, but will always be with us in his incredible, sweet, loving spirit.

It is with heavy hearts that we are now preparing to head west for Colorado.  We never imagined that road trip without Mash in the backseat, smiling that wonderful smile he had.  However, we recognize that this is a chance for a fresh start.  As the movers are upstairs putting all of our possessions into boxes, I know that we must embrace this new journey in our lives.  Williamsburg was a good home for the four of us, but we must now shed this life and begin anew in Colorado.

And so, in about six weeks, K, Banger and I will jump into the Honda Civic and begin our two week journey to go almost 2000 miles to a new home.  We will try our best to leave the sadness of Mash's passing here in Williamsburg and bring only the wonderful memories that we are so fortunate to have with us along the way.  Until then, K will be in Georgia and I will be working for a bit more and then spending time with friends and family up and down the east coast.

We have decided to chronicle our road trip out west in pictures and words to share with all of our loved ones.  I therefore cordially invite you to come along with the Macs on our adventure driving the 1,700 miles to Colorado Springs!  We have plans to stop in towns both small and large... wherever the wind may blow.  We'd love for you to come along for the ride!

One last thing - as grief has become an unwelcome visitor in my life, it is with exceptional clarity that I see that we must enjoy and love those around us because we never know what will happen in life.  So do me and Mash a favor and go give all of your loved ones big hugs and kisses and tell them that you love them.

See you soon!
